LOOKING FORWARD TO THE UEFA CHAMPIONS LEAGUE (PART 1) The month of August has finally come and the long awaited Uefa Champions league has finally returned. This weekend would be involving the second leg of fixtures played back in February. It does promise to be a fun and action packed one as its going to involve various giants from all over Europe.Friday, the first round of second leg fixtures would be involving Juventus who would take on Lyon at home in Turin and also Real Madrid who would be looking to reclaim their trademark trophy away from home to Manchester City. Juventus in their game would certainly be seeking for amendments after loosing 1-0 away from home in February. Its no doubt that ever since the resumption of football, they-ve played like a rejuvenated side and it-s almost certain that they-ll be looking to go into that fixture with the same momentum with which they won the just concluded Italian Serie A. They-re certainly in search of a second trophy this season but Lyon are no easy opponents as they always seem to have that killer blow whenever it matters the most.Real Madrid on the other hand would most likely be going all out against Pep Guardiola-s Man City. The newly crowned Spanish Champions lost the first leg 1-2 at home to City thanks to Kevin De Bruyne-s assist for G.Jesus and winning goal from the penalty spot. It-s definitely not gonna be an easy mission for them as City have always been no easy opponents to topple especially at the Ethihad Stadium but I still see Real as favourites in that fixture based on the fact that they-re the most experienced and most successful side in that competition. But we-ll just have to wait and see how it all goes down. Let me know your thoughts on both fixtures. Do you think Juve would overcome Lyon ?? And do you feel that Real can once again progress and win the Uefa Champions League trophy for a record 14th time ??Image Source
