Flexibility and focus are two OSRS GP indicators of intelligence. Jagex isn't both of these. Jagex is stifling about the way it has been pushing updates through. Its primary focus isn't on people but dollars. Jagex's communication is what causes the problem. The root of the issue is the Runescape forums. Forums are the place where Jagex as well as players are able to meet and start getting Runescape rolling again.

Jagex may believe that Runescape will be able to survive if it adapts to the other MMOs. An adaptation of change or die. Jmods can only communicate with a small number of people. It's a matter of time. They are able to only speak to a few people a day. The majority of Jmods are able to talk to just a handful of players, if they even have any. Those relationships will have been established over time and will be "Yes!" groups to whatever the Jmod suggests. Fmods (some of which disguise themselves as Jmods), stamping out any dissent in forums.

Jagex needs to change. Fmods must be eliminated. Fmods should become a salaried job at Jagex with high standards. There will be no more Fmods calling players "you lot" and so on. Fmods have been causing havoc in certain sections of forums.

Second, update the forums with more voice. Let players ignore others and have other tools and build networks in the forums. Give the RS forums the functionality of Facebook, a fairly easy way to group them. However, they are not player-driven, unlike all the secret forums Jagex has polluting the forums, and turning the forums into rigid regions.

Establish a player old school runescape buy gold council, and allow players to vote for 12 members who will have the power to accept updates. It's a small budget, a few hundred k annually or so. Make use of Facebook as well as Twitter to interact with forums.
