After discovering a major flaw in Deckard Cain's ability to identify items – a classic trick from the original Diablo 2 that has been omitted from the remake – players of Diablo 2 Resurrection have demanded a fix.
When deciding whether or not to keep loot, D2 diablo 2 resurrected items must first identify the dropped item in order to determine what slots or effects it has. There are two ways to identify an item, and one of them has something to do with Deckard Cain's services after rescuing him – or paying him for the service if you didn't pick him up during the Search for Cain quest –
In the original game, D2 diablo 2 resurrected items made use of a trick that allowed Cain to bulk-identify items stashed in the Horadric Cube's 12-grid matrix. As user 'r3dholm' pointed out, "Cain identification does not include items in the cube like the original."
As more buy diablo 2 resurrected items became aware of the omission, calls for the return of the popular shortcut to Diablo 2 Resurrected became louder."I'm relieved that I'm not the only one who is dissatisfied with it."
"Indeed. Diablo 2 Resurrection players believe it is past time to address the item problem with Cain. Because the game has only recently been released, there should be enough time for the developers to release a quick update for it.
