RHP Forrest Snow reassigned to minor-league camp.— Milwaukee Brewers March 17, 2017With today's moves, 42 players remain in Major League camp: 22 pitchers, 5 catchers, 10 infielders and 5 outfielders.— Milwaukee Brewers March 17, 2017None of today's cuts really come as a surprise, though it may be a touch disappointing that we likely won't be able to see top prospect Lewis Brinson and the other touted outfielders in action for the remainder of the spring. Brinson and Cordell certainly impressed during their opprtunities for playing time, with Sweet Lew batting .294/.385/.588 with 2 home runs in 34 at-bats and the PTBNL Cordell hitting .280/.394/.480 with 1 homer in 25 at-bats. Phillips looked a bit over-matched at the plate, posting just a .639 OPS in 27 at-bats, but he was able to show off his defensive chops and cannon arm in the outfield. GM David Stearns told reporters that Brinson, Phillips, and Cordell are all ticketed for AAA Colorado Springs to start the year. Related Milwaukee Brewers make first round of roster cuts Josh Hader among Milwaukee Brewers’ second round of roster cuts Craig Counsell indicated early on this spring that his outfield will likely consist of Ryan Braun, Keon Broxton, and Domingo Santana, with Kirk Nieuwenhuis and Hernan Perez serving as backups. Michael Reed does remain with the big league club for now, but Counsell has stated that the Texan still has things to prove against AAA competition and he's unlikely to break camp with Milwaukee unless an injury occurs. As for Forrest Snow, who is in camp as a non-roster invitee on a minor league deal, his bid to break with the big league bullpen to start the season has come to an end. He was impressive in his limited looks, utilizing a low-90s fastball along with a nifty splitter to post four scoreless appearances. In 3.1 innings he struck out 4 batters while walking one, allowing just two hits along the way. The 28 year old was once a touted prospect in the Mariners organization before a suspension for testing positive for marijuana, and he has yet to make his big league debut. He'll hope to earn that first call-up at some point this year and will likely begin the year in the Sky Sox bullpen Mario Feliciano Jersey. He posted a 2.83 ERA between AA and AAA last season.Statistics courtesy of MLB.com
