2K will definitely try some things for the upcoming NBA 2K22. NBA 2K22 Seasons will introduce a completely new way to level up your MyPlayer and earn exciting MyPlayer prizes in the City as well as the Neighborhood, according to the first NBA 2K22 Courtside Report of the year. With new NPCs that can give missions to MyPlayers throughout the City in NBA 2K22 next-gen, Seasons may have an impact on what missions and rewards include NBA 2K22 MT and VC are available in the City during that particular season. For current-generation players, the Neighborhood will be set on a cruise ship, and the Seasons experience may differ from that of previous generations. According to the Courtside Report, the cruise ship will dock in exotic locations throughout Seasons, and players will be able to travel ashore to take part in shoreside events and activities. Let's talk about the new seasons, modes, and progressions in NBA 2K22.

NBA 2K22 Coss-Generational Progression

Despite the fact that NBA 2K22 will be available on both current-generation and next-generation consoles, will players' progress carry over? A number of significant changes have been made to the well-known NBA 2K experience. Progress will only be carried over between consoles of the same family (for example, from the Xbox One to the Xbox Series X/S and from the PlayStation 4 to the PlayStation 5). In MyGM and MyLeague, one of those changes came at the expense of two popular but long-forgotten modes, which have since been forgotten.

The inclusion of virtual currency MT NBA 2K22 in NBA 2K22 has not been officially confirmed by 2K, but the game's predecessor and pre-order MT bonuses indicate that MT will be included in the game's successor, similar to how a shared wallet feature will be included in NBA 2K22. MyTeam Points will also be shared between generations, as will MyTeam cards, challenges, and collections, among other things. Now is the time to pre-order the NBA 2K22 Cross-Gen Digital Bundle, which grants players access to both the current-generation and next-generation versions of the game. Bonuses for pre-ordering MyTeam Points, cards, and packs, as well as MyCareer boosts and MyPlayer accessories, are included. The bundle can be purchased for $79.99 on both the PlayStation Store and the Microsoft Store, respectively

This most likely means that other game modes, such as MyCareer and MyLeague, will not have cross-progression enabled by default. This is understandable given that the MyCareer features differ between console generations and that progress will not be carried over. In order to play multiple MyCareers, players will be able to create custom builds of their MyPlayer on the other generation version, but they will be required to create an entirely new one on the first generation version. While created players will not be able to see each other's progress, some fans may be wondering whether their hard-earned VC will be able to be used in MyCareer.

NBA 2K22 MyNBA

MyNBA in NBA 2K22 was a complete and utter revelation, and it is, in my opinion, the best mode in the game with the highest possible ceiling. The inclusion of The City into the new generation version was a bold move, and there is a lot of potential there, but it fell short of MyNBA in terms of sheer depth and replayability. MyNBA is, at its core, an extremely good service. It's exactly what traditional NBA game franchise players have been clamoring for for quite some time now. By "traditional" player, I mean the type of player who used to mod and release unofficial updates for NBA Live 2000 before the game's official release. I am, in fact, that old. It's possible that some of the original NBA Live fans reading this can remember back to Live 2000 and how it was the first game to truly nail the franchise mode, complete with salary caps, scouting, and free agency, all of which were quite revolutionary and expansive in their respective genres at the time.
