What is microdermabrasion?
Microdermabrasion is a non-invasive way to rejuvenate the skin. In this method, the surface layer of your skin is removed using various techniques. After complete healing, the new surface layer looks more beautiful, smoother and younger.
The treatment session lasts between 30 and 40 minutes for the face and about 20 minutes for the neck. You will not have pain during the treatment session and there is no need to use anesthesia. After treatment, you may have a slight swelling or a sun-like sensation that subsides and resolves within a few days.
Better 5 to 16 sessions are needed to achieve the best rejuvenation results. These meetings are held weekly, bi-weekly or monthly. The interval between treatment sessions depends on the goals, the reason for the treatment, as well as your skin type. Rejuvenation results of this method are not permanent and need to be extended.
Microdermabrasion was first approved by the FDA in 1996. Since then, hundreds of different tools have been developed for this treatment. For this reason, there are several ways to do microdermabrasion, some of which are introduced below:
Diamond tip (Dimond-tip Handpiece)
Manual diamond tip is a tool for peeling and microdermabrasion. This device is designed to gently remove dead cells and the stratum corneum of the skin. At the same time, the cells pulled out by hand are sucked.
The depth of exfoliation in this method depends on the pressure applied to the hand and also on the amount of suction left on the skin. This microdermabrasion applicator is commonly used on sensitive areas of the skin (such as the area around the eyes).
Crystal microdermabrasion
This method uses a special hand that pours very fine crystals on the skin while moving and rubbing the skin. Similar to the diamond method, the crystals cause the dead cells to separate and the suction device collects the extracted cells.
This method uses different crystals, which are usually made of aluminum oxide or sodium bicarbonate.
Hydrodermabrasion
Hydrodermabrasion is a new method that does not use crystals. In this method, we use the simultaneous skin effusion technique. That is, at the same time, we remove the dead skin cells and introduce special and very useful therapeutic substances into the skin. Hydrodermabrasion stimulates collagen production and increases blood flow to the skin. This means that the skin heals faster and the rejuvenating effects are maximized.
